Artist Vs. Poet give the gift of music to their fans with a free Christmas/Holidays EP titled Naughty or Nice.
With the holidays right around the corner, many bands are releasing covers of their favorite Christmas songs or making their own, and Artist Vs. Poet’s Naughty or Nice EPis by far one of the best ones out there.
The album features four tracks full of strong vocals, soul embracing harmonies, foot-tapping rhythms, and beautiful renditions of classic alternative/pop-punk holiday songs.
The most outstanding track on the EP is definitely their sweetly, romanticized rendition of Blink 182’s “Happy Holidays You Bastards.” The original song features fast, heavy, punk-styled guitar riffs and drums with a layer of profane and inappropriate lyrics on top.
Artist Vs. Poet kept the latter, but really outdid themselves with the way they softened the song using a playful high-pitched sound (which could be a triangle or xylophone), a pleasant acoustic guitar melody, and Joe Kirkland’s soft, charming “I’ll never talk to you again,” harmonizing with Dylan Steven’s profane “Unless your mom will touch my cock.”
Another winning factor of this EP was the opening track, “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” accentuating Kirkland’s falsetto and bandmates’ beatboxing skills.
This free album is great and believe me: you won’t regret downloading it. For such a great price you get quality tunes. What more could you ask for?
You can download the EP here, or stream it on their soundcloud. If you’re feeling charitable, they are also accepting donations.
What are some of your favorite ones this year? Let us know!
